Licensing Information
Nebraska

Licenses are readily available and all applicants in the past have had 100% drawing success for big game permits. Our southern location in the Frenchman Unit also has a whitetail only unit, which usually has permits available up to the season. Nebraska's deer permits are for either whitetail or mule deer. Nebraska also allows the harvest of two antlered deer so it is possible to add an archery hunt to a firearm hunt or come back in December and hunt again with muzzleloader. Doe permits may also be added to any of the deer packages for no extra guiding fees. Big game applications begin in April and are due the end of June for firearm permits. Archery and muzzleloader deer permits, archery antelope, as well as archery turkey and northwest unit shotgun turkey permits are available on an unlimited basis year round. These permits and regulations can be purchased and obtained online. Season regulations and dates are issued each March so hunts booked earlier than the 1st of March will be booked TBA for specific hunting dates. Ash Creek Outfitters is available to help with any regulation problems and questions you may have. Permits, big game applications, and hunting regulations are available through the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Upland and small game permits may be purchased locally. Call before you apply for any permits to assure your purchase of the correct permits and stamps.

South Dakota
Deer firearm permits are not as readily available as they are in Nebraska and are on a limited lottery basis. If you are denied a permit the first year of the application process, you will get a preference point for the next year. Our clients usually draw rifle permits either the first or second year, depending on application traffic. Our ranch in South Dakota holds monster mule deer and whitetails and is well worth the wait. Archery permits have a 100% drawing success, but the application must be completed before the end of July to receive them by opening day. Almost all of our archery mule deer hunts will take place in South Dakota because of the super trophy potential. Muzzleloader permits are not available to nonresidents. It is possible to add a doe permit to a buck permit for a larger permit fee. SD also allows the taking of two turkeys if extra permits are available. If our clients have booked a hunt for SD and are denied a permit by the commission, the deposit sent to Ash Creek Outfitters is held until the applicant is successful in drawing a permit in a future year. Big game applications and hunting regulations are available through the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Commission. Call before applying for any permits to assure your purchase of the correct permits and stamps.
